An evening of dance celebrating the opening of
The CityDance Studio Theater at Strathmore.
Morgan and his company will present an exciting four part program to unveil CityDance's new Venue.
The evening will begin with In Plain Sight, a world premiere collaboration between Morgan, Composer Ignacio Alcover (Morgan's longtime collaborator from Musica Aperta), Photographer Kay Chernush (whose series of photographs on human trafficking inspired the work) and Projection Designer/Dance Technologist Shannon Braine.
Morgan will then perform a world premiere solo with an original score he created with long time collaborator Monstah Black.
The first half of the evening will conclude with Morgan's exuberant quartet Tarantella, that draws inspiration from thrilling traditional Neapolitan music that is the original basis of what the world of Classical Ballet later embraced as Tarantella.
The second half of the evening will be a special performance by students of the CityDance Conservatory in Morgan's work Ties That Bind. This special performance will be preparing the students for the 10th anniversary of this significant work in Morgan's repertoire, originally created for the Lithuanian dance company Aura in 2002.
