Abby Farina (Company Dancer) grew up in Mechanicsville, Maryland. She attended Towson University and studied under Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, Runqiao Du, Vincent Thomas, and Catherine Horta-Hayden. While at TU, Abby worked with outside choreographers including Christopher K. Morgan, Trent Williams, Jr., Alia Kache and Stephanie Powell. Having the opportunity to attend several CKM&A winter and summer intensives sparked her initial interest and desire to perform with the company. She graduated summa cum laude, receiving both a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and a B.S. in Cultural Studies.
She has worked with Ballet ADI, Bowen McCauley Dance, Orange Grove Dance, and S.J. Ewing & Dancers. She has performed at Dance Place, Dupont Underground, James Madison University, the Kennedy Center, Lansburgh Theatre, and the Mexican Cultural Institute in the DC area, as well as in Michigan, Ohio and New York. Aside from performing, she enjoys teaching dance, and exploring the outdoors. This is Abby’s fourth season with CKM&A.
