Amanda Engelhardt

Company Dancer

 

Amanda came up in the DC area dance community with a focus on ballet and contemporary dance. Amanda received her BFA from the University of Arizona in 2010. In 2011, she joined CityDance Ensemble where she was introduced to Christopher and the professional dance scene in DC. She joined CompanyE that same year, and started her international love affair with dance.

 

While dancing with CompanyE, Amanda performed works by Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, Marco Cantalupo, Daniel Agami, Rachel Erdos, Thomas Noone, Paul Taylor, and many more diverse dance makers. She was also given the opportunity to co-create original works with the other company members, and working with the experimental musical talents of Spain’s Miguel Lopez was a highlight for her.

 

Outside of dance, Amanda’s interest in the function and capabilities of the human body and its spirit have led her down a yogic path. She is a yoga teacher and lifetime student of the practice. Amanda joined CKM&A in Spring of 2014.
