Born with a love of movement, Shannon Braine is extremely grateful she has been able to pursue dance and art making as her career. Shannon received her Master of Fine Arts degree from Florida State University’s Department of Dance, with a special emphasis on dance technology. Since moving to Washington, D.C. in January 2009, Shannon has been fortunate to work with artists such as CityDance Ensemble, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Gesel Mason, Christopher K. Morgan, Cynthia Oliver, Benjamin Levy, and other visiting artists, as a dance technologist. In her association with FilmWorks, Shannon toured the Middle East and South America as the videographer for CityDance Ensemble. She also created multiple projection designs for local choreographers and specializes in the documentation of artists and dance companies. She believes it is essential for dance to continue to flourish, evolve, and remain an integral part of our life, in our rapidly changing world.
Shannon also danced with CKM&A from 2012-2013.
