Rachel Shaver

Apprentice

 

Rachel Shaver hails from Chesterfield, Virginia, where she trained at local studios for 15 years under the respective direction of Karen Flores, and Lauren Czajkowski. While studying at Thomas Dale Specialty Center for Visual and Performing Arts, Rachel was selected to attend the Summer Residential Governor’s School at Radford University, and later received the “Senior Award” for Choreography and Performance at the 2013 Z Mullins Dance Symposium. Following high school, she worked at Kings Dominion as a dancer and a singer-dancer for MoonMaxx Productions, performing in Halloween Haunt and “On Broadway,” a full-season production. In the summer of 2016, Rachel was thrilled to attend a four-week summer intensive with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, as well as their two-week satellite program in California in affiliation with USC Kaufman School of Dance. Rachel is currently a senior, pursuing a BFA in Dance from the Conservatory at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. This is Rachel’s second season withCKM&A.

About the CKM&A Apprenticeship program

 

Since 2012, the CKM&A Apprenticeship program has offered professional dance experience to gifted dance students enrolled in University Dance Programs in the Metro DC area. Former Apprentices have gone on to dance with the company including is the third company apprentice Ellie van Bever and Gracie Corapi.
